A little act of love, art and Beatles magic across the city that started it all.
Every year on 25 June, Beatles fans around the world mark Global Beatles Day – a celebration of the music, message, and cultural impact of The Beatles. The date was chosen to honour 25 June 1967, the day The Beatles performed All You Need Is Love on the BBC’s Our World, the first live global television broadcast, sharing a message of unity with millions across the planet. Global Beatles Day was started in 2009 by Beatles fan Faith Cohen as a tribute to what the band gave the world: joy, imagination, connection and a reminder that music can make people Come Together (sorry, I couldn’t resist). Over time, the day has grown into a wider celebration of the Beatles’ enduring spirit and the idea that their message still matters.
For me, that message has always come back to one simple line – all you need is love.

So this year, I’m celebrating in the most Liverpool way I can think of – by taking a little Beatles-inspired love around the city itself.
On GBD, I’ll be visiting Beatles landmarks across Liverpool and leaving behind free art prints for people to discover. It’s my own small way of marking the day; part art trail, part treasure hunt, part tribute to the city that shaped one of the most beloved bands in history.
Each print is a gift – something to find, keep and hopefully smile about. I love the idea of these pieces ending up in the hands of locals, visitors, Beatles fans, and curious passers-by, all connected by a shared moment in a shared place.
Because that’s what Global Beatles Day means to me. It’s not just about nostalgia, or even just about the music. It’s about celebrating creativity, kindness, community and the way art can travel further than we expect.

How can you celebrate Global Beatles Day?
There are so many ways to join in:
- Play your favourite Beatles album from start to finish.
- Visit a Beatles landmark or a place connected to music history.
- Share a favourite lyric, memory, or song.
- Watch Our World clips or a Beatles documentary.
- Support an artist, make something creative, or leave a little kindness behind.
- If you’re in Liverpool, keep your eyes peeled – you might just find one of my free prints.
On the day, I’ll also be sharing Instagram Stories of my Beatles landmarks route and the prints as I leave them around the city. If you find one, I’d love for you to share it and tag me.
It feels especially fitting to celebrate Global Beatles Day in Liverpool – not just because it is the Beatles’ hometown, but because the city still carries their energy in its streets, stories, and spirit.
So wherever you are on 25 June, celebrate in your own way. Play the music loudly. Be a little softer with people. Make something. Share something. Leave a bit of beauty behind.
All you need is love…and The Beatles.
